Yeshua came on the scene and tore down the fence, the rabbis were incensed.39 They could have considered Yeshua as the Messiah, except for two things: He tore down the fence of the Oral Law and He made Himself to be God and for that the Pharisees wanted Him dead by any means (see Appendix 8). Their theological position was based on the reinterpretation of the Law and Prophets in conjunction with Oral Law and their reaction to His claim of deity is clearly seen in John 10:32–33.
